Ebola Victim: Thomas Eric Duncan's Family Settles with Dallas Hospital for Undisclosed Amount

Thomas Eric Duncan died on October 8 from Ebola at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. The Liberian man was initially sent away from the hospital's emergency room with antibiotics which authorities admitted was a mistake

He died like a dog': Mary Pearson, 52, sister of Thomas Eric Duncan, who became the first U.S. victim of Ebola. She believes he was allowed to die in revenge for bringing the virus to America.

Texas Health announced today that his family will be taken care of as part of the settlement

Texas Health has already apologized to Mr Duncan's family.
The agreement was reached after allegations of wrongdoing and incidents of protocol not being followed, CBS reported. A suit against the Dallas hospital faced long odds due to the state's regulations on malpractice suits that have made it one of the hardest places in the United States to sue over medical errors, especially those that occur in the emergency room, according to plaintiffs' lawyers and legal experts. Duncan, a Liberian national who arrived in the United States, first sought treatment at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in late September, telling staff he had come from Liberia, one of three West African countries hit hardest by the Ebola outbreak there.

Liberia's President, Ma Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Makes Desperate Appeal to The World For Help Against Ebola

Liberia's President: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

In a "letter to the world" broadcast on BBC World Service, she said the disease "respects no borders", and that every country had to do all it could to help fight it. President Johnson Sirleaf added that a generation of Africans were at risk of "being lost to economic catastrophe".
The Ebola outbreak has killed more than 4,500 people across West Africa, including 2,200 in Liberia. International donations have so far fallen well short of the amounts requested by UN agencies and aid organizations.

In the worst-affected countries - Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone - about 9,000 people have been found to have the Ebola virus, which kills an estimated 70% of those infected.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    INFORMATION CONTACT: (Adeyinka Adegoke, info@freshires.com)

Help is on the way for college students looking for their first job
One of the huge questions facing college students about to graduate is, “How do I convince someone I’m worth hiring if I don’t have experience to prove it?” On the opposite side, employers ask themselves, “How do I know this kid with no real experience is worth hiring?” A new website scheduled to launch April 1, 2014 has the answers to both questions. It is FresHires, the Global Socio-Academic Branding Networking and Collaboration Platform for College Students and Fresh Graduates.
The FresHires site www.freshires.com recognizes the need in this world of constant change to build the future through the present generation. It offers tools to meet the needs of the young professional with little or no work experience.
FreshHires was Co-founded in May 2013 by Adeyinka Adegoke and Oluseye Fadiran, both from the United States of America. Adegoke has about five years of experience in petro-chemical process engineering, research and development and is the Creative and Innovative Director of FresHires. Fadiran has over five years’ experience in computer science and engineering, writing computer codes and programming and working with computer network analysis. He is the Chief Brand Strategist for FresHires.
Their goal is to create the world’s largest global recruiting platform and become a central platform for college students’ social networking. They hope to own the national graduating students database for individual countries as a resource for hiring and recruiting firms.
Students and business executives who take the time to explore the various segments of www.freshires.com will find a broad range of resources to help with job and hiring searches. The FresHires co-founders have spent years examining the high level of unemployment or underployment of college students, especially those just coming out of college trying to join the workforce.
College students tend to forget many of their achievements acquired while in college or do not realize how to apply them in a practical way to the real world. Employers tend not to have confidence in fresh graduates because they believe they do not actually have the skills to thrive in a professional environment.
To correct these deficiencies, FresHires offers several avenues for improvement. The website provides an online portfolio that houses digital versions of students’ activities and progress on campus in videos, pictures and documents. The FresHires platform has also integrated a tool for popularizing volunteer or internship job search. This tool allows companies of all sizes in both consumer and government categories to post opportunities for students to gain experience as a volunteer.
FresHires hopes to attract the interest of college and university undergraduates, potential interns, fresh graduates with no experience or a little experience, employers and headhunters.
Some of the industries they hope to serve include education, human resource, public service, arts, information technology and entertainment.
“Branding” is a popular buzz word in 2014. FresHires offers a broad range of ways to improve yours. Investigate the Social Media Platform for connecting with other college students, Self and Portfolio Branding to showcase hands-on skills, Research collaboration with other students, and Professional Relationships for chatting in real time with professionals around the world.
The April 1 launch of www.freshires.com will create an opportunity to participate from the very beginning in what promises to be a real game-changer for those preparing to enter the job market for the first time.
