Help is on the way for college students looking for their first job
One of the huge questions facing college students about to graduate is, “How do I convince someone I’m worth hiring if I don’t have experience to prove it?” On the opposite side, employers ask themselves, “How do I know this kid with no real experience is worth hiring?” A new website scheduled to launch April 1, 2014 has the answers to both questions. It is FresHires, the Global Socio-Academic Branding Networking and Collaboration Platform for College Students and Fresh Graduates.
The FresHires site www.freshires.com recognizes the need in this world of constant change to build the future through the present generation. It offers tools to meet the needs of the young professional with little or no work experience.
FreshHires was Co-founded in May 2013 by Adeyinka Adegoke and Oluseye Fadiran, both from the United States of America. Adegoke has about five years of experience in petro-chemical process engineering, research and development and is the Creative and Innovative Director of FresHires. Fadiran has over five years’ experience in computer science and engineering, writing computer codes and programming and working with computer network analysis. He is the Chief Brand Strategist for FresHires.
Their goal is to create the world’s largest global recruiting platform and become a central platform for college students’ social networking. They hope to own the national graduating students database for individual countries as a resource for hiring and recruiting firms.
Students and business executives who take the time to explore the various segments of www.freshires.com will find a broad range of resources to help with job and hiring searches. The FresHires co-founders have spent years examining the high level of unemployment or underployment of college students, especially those just coming out of college trying to join the workforce.
College students tend to forget many of their achievements acquired while in college or do not realize how to apply them in a practical way to the real world. Employers tend not to have confidence in fresh graduates because they believe they do not actually have the skills to thrive in a professional environment.
To correct these deficiencies, FresHires offers several avenues for improvement. The website provides an online portfolio that houses digital versions of students’ activities and progress on campus in videos, pictures and documents. The FresHires platform has also integrated a tool for popularizing volunteer or internship job search. This tool allows companies of all sizes in both consumer and government categories to post opportunities for students to gain experience as a volunteer.
FresHires hopes to attract the interest of college and university undergraduates, potential interns, fresh graduates with no experience or a little experience, employers and headhunters.
Some of the industries they hope to serve include education, human resource, public service, arts, information technology and entertainment.
