Seven people have been arrested, including an assembly member, for the gruesome murder of a military officer, Maxwell Mahama, in Upper Denkyira-Obuasi District, the Central Region of Ghana. They were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Cape Coast were they were provisionally charged with murder.
William Baah, the assemblyman of Denkyira-Obuasi is said to be the mastermind of the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama’s.
Captain Maxwell Mahama was a Commander of a military in the area and he was jogging along when he stopped and asked a woman for direction. As soon as she saw a pistol on him,
she mistook him for an armed robber and alerted the assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burn a part of his body.
