Liberian Woman From Brooklyn Park, MN Set Boyfriend's Car On Fire: Marion F. Yeawolo Faces 10 Years In Prison & Up To $20,000 In fines!

Marion Farley Yeawolo of Brooklyn Park Minnesota

Police say they located surveillance video from a nearby apartment building showing 23-year-old Marion Farley Yeawolo approach the car in question just after midnight Jan. 4 and drop something through the passenger side window, with the car bursting into flames a moment later. After investigators made contact with the suspect she admitted to soaking a shirt in lighter fluid, lighting it on fire and throwing it into her boyfriend's car. The victim told authorities that he was involved in a relationship with Yeawolo and had gotten into a fight with her earlier in the night. He claimed she had attempted to light the car on fire unsuccessfully just a few hours earlier before he fled the scene, though she followed him and ultimately broke his passenger side window. He left his car at his sister's house following the incident, but he couldn't escape Yeawolo entirely. Police said the victim was later awoken by a friend who called to say his car was on fire, with police and firefighters working to put it out. The victim identified Yeawolo as the suspect. She now faces 10 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines.
